Context of the approach

Get to know our readers, our members, our customers better.

Understand what can unite communities at a time when the world is dividing.

Paperjam approached Dr. Abdu Gnaba, an anthropologist, with the mission of listening to readers, members and customers.

Upon his return, he spoke with Paperjam employees.

Then he wrote a text, a manifesto that describes the Paperjam tribe.

Of course, not all readers are the same, it is a set of points, some of which are in common, it is also about aspirations.

The members of the tribe are on their way, they are in transition.

The approach is not dogmatic, the members of the tribe are not free from contradictions.

Dr. Abdu Gnaba named this tribe.

With a critical mindset, the tribe of the Evolutionaries seeks out different points of view in order to ask the right questions and feed their reflection. Against the fear-driven discourse of populists or the ready-made thinking of the disengaged, they pursue reasoned diversity, enlightening ideas, and concrete examples of action.

The tribe of the Evolutionaries brings together individuals defined by shared traits to varying degrees: humanist and progressive, confident and agile, inclusive and responsible. They wish to better understand the world and take part in its transformation.

As humanists, they aspire to a world in constant evolution and believe that individual progress contributes first and foremost to the progress of society.

As liberal progressives, they commit themselves to a wide spectrum of interdependent issues: ecological transition, economic vitality, technology serving humanity, living together, and the defense of democracy.

As confident people, they have a strong appetite for the future — trust in the work already accomplished, trust in the bonds that unite members of society, trust in the capacity of the country’s institutions and actors to adapt. Lovers of fairness, they want to take an active part in a world under construction: open rather than confined to social media, optimistic rather than conservative, activist rather than partisan, free and independent.

As agile thinkers, they adopt what is best to adapt to new times, and do not content themselves with merely imitating, repeating, or reproducing.

To live Luxembourg the way the Evolutionaries do is to seize opportunities, anticipate the next move, and not hesitate to reshape the achievements of the past. From now on, time is measured both in the long term and the short term. The Evolutionaries envision a humanist, liberal, and optimistic world, for which they sometimes actively campaign.

The Evolutionaries embody an inclusive and open ideal that Luxembourg makes tangible and of which they are proud: a geographical, economic, and cultural crossroads, a place of exchange of ideas, and fertile ground for initiatives. They are attached to Luxembourg for its agility, diversity, dynamism, pragmatism, comfort, and safety.

The Evolutionaries are residents and cross-border commuters, Luxembourgers and non-Luxembourgers, academics and self-taught, leaders, experts and collaborators, seniors and juniors, men and women. They are united by liberal values and responsible behavior, while also conscious of their contradictions and those of the world.

For them, building connections is essential, and passing knowledge between generations is a priority. Together, the Evolutionaries work for a Luxembourg that values quality over quantity.

Like the Evolutionaries, Paperjam commits itself to the long-term development of Luxembourg — by contributing to the evolution of society and to its international influence, by accompanying political, social, and cultural developments with a critical and constructive approach.

The Evolutionaries are the tribe of the Paperjam community. For them, Paperjam is their “café of initiatives” — a source of information, inspiration, and relationships.
