Abdu Gnaba
Context of the approach
→ Get to know our readers, our members, our customers better.
→ Understand what can unite communities at a time when the world is dividing.
→ Paperjam approached Dr. Abdu Gnaba, an anthropologist, with the mission of listening to readers, members and customers.
→ Upon his return, he spoke with Paperjam employees.
→ Then he wrote a text, a manifesto that describes the Paperjam tribe.
→ Of course, not all readers are the same, it is a set of points, some of which are in common, it is also about aspirations.
→ The members of the tribe are on their way, they are in transition.
→ The approach is not dogmatic, the members of the tribe are not free from contradictions.
→ Dr. Abdu Gnaba named this tribe.
With a spirit of critical thinking, the Tribe of Evolutionaries seeks out diverse perspectives to ask the right questions and nourish meaningful reflection. Standing against the fear-driven rhetoric of populists and the ready-made thinking of the disengaged, they look for balanced diversity, illuminating ideas and concrete examples of action.
The Tribe of Evolutionaries brings together individuals who, in varying degrees, share a set of characteristics: humanist and progressive, confident and agile, inclusive and responsible. They want to better understand the world and play an active role in its transformation.
As humanists, they aspire to a world in constant evolution and believe that individual progress is the first engine of collective progress.
As liberal progressives, they engage across a wide spectrum of increasingly interconnected issues: ecological transition, economic dynamism, technology serving humanity, social cohesion and the defence of democracy.
Confident, they have a strong appetite for the future. Confidence in the work accomplished, confidence in the bonds that hold society together, confidence in the ability of institutions and actors to adapt. Lovers of fairness and accuracy, they want to take an active part in shaping the world - open rather than confined to social networks, optimistic rather than conservative, committed rather than partisan, free and independent.
Agile, they draw on the best tools and ideas to adapt to new times and refuse to simply imitate, repeat or reproduce.
To live Luxembourg the way Evolutionaries do means seizing opportunities, anticipating the next move, and not hesitating to reshape past achievements. From now on, time must be read both in the short term and the long term. The Evolutionaries imagine a humanist, liberal and optimistic world - a vision they sometimes actively champion.
The Evolutionaries embody an inclusive and open ideal that Luxembourg brings to life and of which they are proud: a geographical, economic and cultural crossroads, a place where ideas circulate, and fertile ground for new initiatives. Evolutionaries feel deeply connected to Luxembourg for its agility, diversity, dynamism, pragmatism, comfort and security. They are residents and cross-border commuters, Luxembourgers and non-Luxembourgers, graduates and self-taught, leaders, experts and team members, seniors and juniors, women and men - united by liberal values and responsible behaviour, fully aware of their own contradictions and those of the world.
For them, connection matters, and intergenerational transmission is a priority. Together, the Evolutionaries work toward a Luxembourg focused on quality rather than quantity.
Like the Evolutionaries, Paperjam is committed to the long-term development of Luxembourg - contributing to the evolution of society and its international visibility, and accompanying political, social and cultural developments in a critical and constructive way.
The Evolutionaries form the tribe of the Paperjam community. For them, Paperjam is their “café of initiatives”: a source of information, inspiration and meaningful connections.
